Sulphide Toner ( Sepia )

  • Solution A :- Bleach working solution. This is reusable.
  • water :- 700ml
  • potassium ferricyanide :- 50 gramme's
  • potassium bromide:- 50 gramme's
  • Water to :- 1000ml.

  • Solution B :- Toner. Stock solution used 1 + 9 with water
  • water :- 300 ml
  • Sodium sulphide anhydrous:- 50 gramme's
  • water to :- 1000ml

Place the print, having been pre soaked in water, to be toned in solution A. The black areas of the image will bleach to a pale straw colour. This will take about 5 minutes. Wash the print in water for approx. 5 minutes and then place in a tray containing the toner. Finally wash the toned print in water for 30 - 45 minutes. Do not wash with other prints.
